The Story
Every story starts somewhere. This one sails toward Dharma.
In the Beginning...
I wasn’t born on the sea, but somehow, the sea was always calling me.
Not in loud words, but in quiet moments — in silence between jobs, in daydreams while building someone else’s vision, in the restless pull to seek something more.
For years, I worked in construction, engineering, technical drawing… I knew structure, deadlines, effort. I learned how to solve problems, how to create, how to build. But something in me was longing not to build for others — but to build a life worth living. A life full of freedom, purpose, and connection.
Through the years, I’ve worked as a skipper, leading journeys for those who dare to step outside the ordinary. I’ve learned how to read the wind, the tides — and people. Sailing taught me patience, presence, and how to listen. It showed me the beauty of raw nature and the truth of quiet moments.
Later, I started organizing my own sailing trips through Saltyweek, offering curated adventures for explorers who seek meaning beyond the typical tourist route. Each route is handcrafted with care — islands, hidden coves, local food, night swims under stars, laughter, wind… and stories.
And so began Sailing to Dharma.
At first, sailing was just a fascination. But soon it became a path. Not just a path across water — a path inward. With every crossing of the sea, I found pieces of myself. With every sunrise over the open horizon, I was reminded: this is what it means to be alive.
But I wanted to go deeper. Not just offer trips — but invite people into a journey. A journey toward something bigger. A journey toward Dharma — that deeper truth we all carry within.
That’s how Sailing to Dharma was born. Not as a business, not as a brand — but as a calling.
Through this platform, I share my stories from the sea. The lessons, the beauty, the struggles, and the magic. You’ll find videos, blogs, and soon – maybe – a place on board if our paths align.
This is not a luxury cruise.
It’s not a polished influencer dream.
This is real life on the water — raw, honest, imperfect… and beautiful.
What it Means
The word Dharma comes from ancient wisdom and speaks of one’s true path — the inner calling that guides us toward purpose and meaning.
For me, it represents sailing not only across seas, but through life itself — through uncertainty, growth, mistakes, courage, and clarity — all in search of something deeper: truth, freedom, and authenticity.
It’s the quiet courage to ask: What if life could be different?
And then… you realise:
it’s about reconnecting with nature, with people — and ultimately, with yourself.
Sailing to Dharma isn’t just a clever phrase — it has a deeper meaning; It’s a feeling, a direction, it’s my inner compass.
A dream I couldn’t refuse
I don’t have my own sailboat.
I don’t live on the sea — not yet.
But this dream? It keeps pulling me back, every single time I drift too far inland.
But this is the vision I hold close: a life lived freely, guided by the wind and aligned with what matters most. I imagine sailing the world, island to island, anchoring in hidden bays, creating meaningful content, and sharing stories that inspire others to follow their own path.
Sailing to Dharma is the beginning of that dream – the first steps toward a self-sufficient, purpose-driven life shaped by adventure, growth, and deep human connection.
Build It. Do it. Live it. Love it.
I don’t come from a sailing family.
I come from tools, dust, concrete, wires — and grit.
Everything I know, I’ve learned — by building it, doing it, living it.
Now I’m bringing it all together: years in construction, time at sea as a skipper, video editing, storytelling, and hands-on problem-solving.
Sailing to Dharma is the project of my life.
And I want you to see the real version — the one that starts with nothing… and sails toward everything.
Through videos, blogs, sailing trips, and honest reflections, I want to show that it’s possible to start over.
Even without all the answers. Even without a yacht of your own.
One step. One skill. One wave at a time.
If you’re searching — for truth, for purpose, for freedom — you’re already part of this story.
It’s not about fancy boats or flawless lives.
It’s about the journey — and the becoming.
Who’s behind this?
My name is Tadej, a skipper and storyteller with a deep love for the sea and for the journeys it creates. Sailing has always been more than travel for me – it is freedom, connection, and discovery. Sailing to Dharma was born from a wish to share that feeling with others, through stories, videos, and real experiences on the water. This project is as much about sailing as it is about the inner journey – and I’m grateful to have you here with me.
How Tadej is pronounced?
As a friend of mine, also named Tadej (rest his soul), once said —
it sounds like ‘Today’, but it’s not ‘Today’… it’s ‘Tadey’.
